The Property

Dark Sky Lodge & Tavern is nestled into Port Crescent State Park and adjacent to the Port Crescent Dark Sky Preserve.

The lodge features 5 completely remodeled, unique rooms and a private heated pool that faces the Pinnebog river and Port Crescent State Park.

A trail-head awaits that will take you on a historic steel bridge over a branch of the Pinnebog River to hiking & skiing trails and the sandy beach on the Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron.

Attached to the Lodge, you'll find the Tavern. It can provide the energy you need to get through your active day and the relaxation you want when it’s over. Menu

We are located just outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown Port Austin, and situated right on scenic M25 for easy access to outdoor activities including paddling, biking, hiking, stargazing, birding, sailing, snow shoeing, fall color tours, and so much more!

The Rooms

Our rooms showcase the beauty of Huron County with photography and artwork of, or inspired by, the scenes of our area. You’ll be immersed in a one of a kind experience…waking up with a view of Turnip Rock is something available to a few people.

As frequent travelers ourselves, comfort & modernization were important to us when designing the rooms. Easily play music to the soundbar or stream content to the TV. You’ll find a place to charge all of your devices or edit the photos from today’s adventure.

If you don’t want to deal with anyone, you don’t have to. We offer online reservations, contactless check in, and default “do not disturb”. If you want to talk to someone or need anything, we’re always available to you.

You don’t have to talk to anyone to get your room…but we’re here to chat if that’s your thing. We don’t invade your privacy…there are extra towels and sundries in your room. If you need anything at all, we’re just a text away. You’ll have a Bluetooth soundbar if you want to play your music and the TV is AirPlay and Chromecast enabled. There’s a USB charging hub and desk area in case you need to catch up on work while on the road (like many us have to do).

Specific Room Features

Room #1 is ADA compliant
Room #1 has a tub/shower combo. All other rooms have showers.
Rooms #1, #2 & #3 have a chaise lounge and a 3 person capacity.
Rooms #4 & #5 are poolside and face Port Crescent State Park.

Each room features a 40” 4K TV with Bluetooth enabled soundbar.
Stream video or music from your device with Airplay and Chromecast connections.
